Hi, it's me again, back!
Over the
last months, I’ve been to Omar Khairat’s concert. I was over the moon to attend
a live peroformance by OMAR KHAIRAT & his band.. it was like a dream come
true.
I was “inspired”
&”impressed” by his wonderful skill in piano playing, & how beautiful
his music writing & composition was.
I was
“obssessed” by the idea of being over 60 & still have something to give..
having an audience who’d follow you anywhere & reach out for getting a
ticket to your concert.. having a “Message” to deliver through your work .. and
having a band / team of talented musicians like Manal Mohey Eldin or Nesma
Abdelaziz or others in the band who are stars of their own.
Art
mentorship. Inspiring.
I was
haunted by the idea of having a “career” / “work” that’s eventfull &
impressive as stone thrown in stagnant water.
I also
attended the concert of Cairo Symphonic Orchestra playing Rimsky Korsakov’s
Scherezade & Sergei Prokofiev’s Sinfonia Concertante for Cello &
Orchestra in e minor, O. 125 (exactly as written ;D )
I was
“impressed” by the performance of the Cello soloist Ayman El Hanbouly, Playing full-focused
without reading notes, playing with such skillful technique ( in my inexpert
view) , & seeing an orchestra playing live I can feel the ideas &
thoughts about harmony..team work .. perfect timing .. perfect coordination
& discipline all come alive .. in flesh & blood.
Looking at
any good musician performing, or good music played, I can clearly see years of
practice.. hard work & persistence
in pursuit of perfection, giving high credit to values of doing something
right, & doing it over & over till it’s better.. there’s always better
& there’s always that touch that signifies a performance or a certain
orchestra or concert over hundreds of them.. more & above.. I see
“Passion”.
Music is always
my best second example for body soul mind synergy.
That’s
“Inspiring”.
The idea of
listening to the great music of Korsakov overwhelming my mind & soul with
legendary images and the magic of 1001 Nights .. music written decades ago
inspired from stories written centuries before..blowing so much power and “magnificentce”.. “richness” of Russian Music
along with the sweetness & tenderness of oriental melodies.. I felt i could
understand Russian after this concert in a way proving the theory that Music is
the “Global Language” of mankind.. such music that crossed over & survived
the barriers & boundaries of place & time.. Everlasting impression
& Inspiration.
Same thing
when listening to the music of Mohammad Abdelwahab ! oh.. listening to pieces
like “el phan”..”Al Karnak” .. “Al nahr al khaled” ..”el gondool” .. “eishq el roo7”…………..
Music that
speaks out the soul of Egypt.. that inspiring piece of land!
What about a
smash hit movie produced in 2013 “inspired by the story” of “The snow queen” by
Hans Christian Andersen published in 1844 ! I’m talking about Frozen movie.
The “Sharp”
talent of people like mentioned above, the clear consistent “career path” that
leads to a remarkable career.. full of achievements and “masterpieces”, their
works that can live & affect over time &
boundaries.. that’s INSPIRING.
Now the QUESTION
is: Are inspiring works planned for? ..
I don’t think so.
What does it
take to get there..the inspiring glorious zone ?
……….
What about
going everyday to an 8 hour work doing some routine tedious tasks of no
vision..to cut it short going to the job you hate just because it’s “the job
that pays the rent” .. a job with no room for creativity or distinction, a job
where you have no “career” cause simply you probably get no experirnce rather
than clerical paper work under whatever the name or title on your business card,
a job where you are never “really” evaluated or directed or appreciated in any
mean.
That must be
disappointing. That must be killing.
The best you
can do is showing some “commitment” to the work you know deep down that you can’t
“respect”. The best you can do is trying to do your best and presist hard work
to keep up that value.
All you do
is wait .. and wait.. & sharpen your patience.
But could
patience be “inspiring”? .. could hard
work be enough?.. could “commitment “ do you any good to reach that?
What about that
life style of doing one thing in order to catch another.. accepting &
living with “bad or mediocre “in one thing / path/ activity/ field to reach “good” in another.
I don’t
think so either.
I wish I could
write anything else.. or even think of some bright “revelations”..
But all I could
come out with .. that inspiration could only be “aspired” .. by just putting
your effort & time where you TALENT is.. by being on the TRACK of your
talent.. or simply what YOU believe & feel you are GOOD at.
One more
thing, I don’t think that everyone on this planet should give out something
that is evaluated or considered..or categorized - to be precise- as “inspiring”
by people.. by us, Meanwhile I believe that everybody does an inspiring thing
to one another.. silently, an inspiration that you feel its effect in a smile
on your face or an instant glow in your heart, an inspiration that helps us to
move on & continue, an inspiration / effect that’s not written about or
spoken about in media.
I believe
that inspiration & inspiring output is a gift.. a grant (or what’s called “Rizq” in Arabic) from God.
Nothing
more.
For anyone
who read this blog post..I’d appreciate and actually looking forward for your
comments and what you think about this issue.
Kindly think
it over & feedback :)
